Denison University - Ohio 2007

Grid tied, with batteries -- Non-penetrating mounting system

Denison University in Granville, Ohio saw the vast flat roof space on the top of their library building as an opportunity. Why not cover the roof space in solar panels to make a portion of the building’s power and also offer a hands on educational system for students? With help from the Environmental Stud¬ies department and students, Third Sun designed a system that worked within their budget and the available roof space.

Third Sun installed a system that uses a ballasted mounting system, requiring no roof penetrations. This system utilizes the Fat Spaniel monitoring system so that students or faculty can access produc¬tion data at any time.
